How to Clean Carpets with Tips for All Stains

The slow motion nightmare where something spills and stains your steam star carpet cleaning, is going to happen sooner than later. As a result of spills or stains in your life, you may find that they have become embedded into the fibers of your carpet. This does not mean it will be permanent.

What is the Best Carpet Cleaning Method?

As a matter of fact, stain removal works much better if it’s done as soon or as early as possible. In general, it is better to wipe away stains than rub. Spilled liquids are best absorbed when blotted, as rubbing them into carpets will only spread the stain. You should also make sure that you blot your stain by rubbing it in from the outside. This will spread the stain.

When it comes to carpet care, a regular deep-cleaning is highly recommended. The cleaning of carpets will be much more successful if there is no need to extract months or years’ worth of ground in dirt. Investment in a vacuum that can extract dirt and odors deeply from the carpet is worthwhile.

The Best Tips for Each Type of Stain

To get your carpet looking as good as new, pre-treat these stains.

Alcohol Cooldrink Urine Mud Ice Cream

Water-soluble spillages like those above can be cleaned with a 1/4 teaspoon vinegar solution to 1 liter water. But remember to wipe, never rub.

Coffee, Tea, Blood, Chocolate, Vomit & Wine:

You should first absorb the spillage using a clean, dry paper towel. For carpets that are not wool, or have a blend of wool and synthetic fibers, ammonia is diluted with water to remove the stain. For carpets made from wool, or with wool blended in them, the best option is a detergent solution diluted in water. Continue with a steam or deep vacuum.

Candle Wax:

Most people would consider this a disaster, but there is an easy way to fix it. Use a paper-towel over the stain. Next, iron with a heated iron. This will cause the oil, wax or grease to stick on your paper towel and leave you carpet just as before.

Then, gently dab it with a cotton-bud or ball saturated in nail polish removal. Be very careful and only use the smallest amount of nail-polish remover possible to eliminate the stain.
